Position Details
As a Junior Estimator, your role will involve preparing tenders and corresponding with suppliers and clients. You will also provide assistance to, and learn directly from, a senior estimator and support other team members in the organisation.
Skills required in order to be successful in the role:
- Estimating/Construction degree or equivalent
- 1-2 years previous experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Enthusiasm to learn various estimating software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive approach to tasks
- Strong attention to detail
Key responsibilities:
- Preparing quotes and tenders
- Communicate with clients, trades and suppliers for pricing
- Progress and variation claims
- Reviewing details from construction documents
- Participate in handover meetings
- Conduct calculations of materials and quantity costs
- Cross-checking documents from multiple departments
